Like many good recipes, Finz Crisps started its life in a suburban home kitchen. Inspired by his family’s love of food and his grand mother’s traditional Lebanese cooking, John would often be found in the kitchen learning the art of bread-making from an early age.
While experimenting with some home-made dough, John baked some flat bread that broke into pieces after it was cooked. Rather than throwing them out, he lightly seasoned the pieces and served them to his family as a snack and to his surprise everyone enjoyed the wafer thin bread pieces commenting on how light and tasty they were. Over time, John perfected the recipe, experimenting with different seasonings which led him to commercialising the product.
John, who now leads Akkary Fine Foods, shares his love of the thin crisp bread with all those who enjoy a light and tasty snack, without the calories. Currently available in 2 flavours, Sweet Chill and Lime & Black Pepper, John can be found in the kitchen developing new flavours while servicing his growing market.
